About the Project

Marion’s Merry Men of the Pee Dee: A History Coloring Book was created to help students, families, and communities discover lesser-known Revolutionary War stories connected to the Pee Dee region of South Carolina. Through art, storytelling, and education, this project highlights individuals whose contributions are often missing from traditional classroom history.

Developed through descendant-led research and community collaboration, this book encourages learners of all ages to explore local history, historical memory, and the diverse people who shaped South Carolina during the American Revolution.

This project was created to make history more accessible, engaging, and connected to the communities where these stories took place.
